Who is making headlines in our industry?

Here are some Canadian construction related news items that caught our eye recently.

Ontario has launched a new pilot project designed to help municipalities and landowners prepare industrial sites in order to be more attractive to investors.

The work being done on Sheep Bridge on Highway 1 in the Kicking Horse Canyon in B.C. — a project we took an in-depth view of in late-March — is making more progress, as the first supporting concrete girders have recently been installed.

Still on the left coast, Metro Vancouver has come under fire from Acciona after terminating the North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant contract. This battle will likely rage on for some time.

Meanwhile, let’s see who’s making waves on social media, shall we?

Bombardier will be constructing a new manufacturing facility in the GTA.

 

 

Chandos Construction engaged in a recent affordable housing project in B.C. in which it employed local workers and sourced the timber from a manufacturer within 30 km of the site. Here’s some video evidence…
